2007-07-01 News Update
To find a man or woman to fill Mikaels shoes wasn't an easy task and the last months have been a non-stop hunt for a new drummer.
With people even from Canada applying for the position, we're proud to announce that we finally have found a guy that have blown us all away.
His drumming really fits the 6th Awakening sound and we are proud to say: Welcome to the family Alexander Gustavsson!
Alex is a born and raised in the vicinity of Umeå, a drummer with his roots in the band Riveria.
To make this transition into something more than a furious hellride we've decided that we will push the release date of the album forward.
We will release it before the end of this year but right now we really need to gather the troops.
6 songs are about to be finalized. We will continue the process during the summer and hopefully we'll record during the autumn.
Some gigs for the summer are booked and we hope to see you at these shows.
Mullberget, Skellefteå 7/7 and Scharinska Umeå 27/7.

We have a sad sad announcement to make.
For 7 years we have had the pleasure of having one of the finest drummers
around in our family.
During these years Michael have been struggling to follow a path that
several bands in the genre spit on.
This has sometimes put 6th Awakening and mostly Mikael in a situation
where personal beliefs have been compromised.
This has been a situation that during the last month has been
all consuming and we as a band have come to the conclusion that 6th
Awakening and Mikael will part ways.
We wish Mikael all the best in the future.

MAN THAT FELT GREAT!!!
After almost a year of not playing in Umeå, we did the
House Of Metal gig yesterday.
Due to the competition, on other stages, we didn't think that we would get the support that we got.
You guys filled the venue!!
We have signed our messages on the news page with comments like: (bang your heads)
and stuff like that.
If we only knew that you guys would take it so seriously!
We can only thank you guys, and it's great to get that kind of support especially
now when we are writing the album.
If we had any doubts of why we are doing the music we do, we got a straight answer yesterday.
The House of metal gig will be a light in the dark tunnel we will travel until the summer.

SORRY for the long delay on our update.
Much has happend this summer and more will come this fall.
The questions surrounding an signing with a label are in circulation.
WE SAY NOTHING! but in the meantime a new singel are being produced and to top that one off we will do a video for it.

Robert has joined the Eagleguitars family and now playes Eagle/Salmath Lucifer-model guitars.

Update !!!
6th would like to thank everyone who was at the gig last saturday we had a GREAT time and enjoyed every minute of it
Also a BIG thanks to Salle and Matte for arranging sutch a great event, hope the people who was there had as fun as we did.
Rob also got the chance to play live on both the JJ-lab amplifier and the Lucifer guitar.
Our goal is in the future to start playing on these kickass guitar and amplifier, we will see what the future brings
We will also get some pictures up later from the gig for everyone who was there to see, stay tuned.

2006-01-02 News Update
Damn do we suck at updates, but here we go !
At the moment we are waiting for the masterd version of this 4song masterpice that we have recorded and mixed, it will be done in the next couple of days, and when we get our hands on this master
ALL you people out there that has been waiting patiently to get your hands on it wont be disappointed
And here is why !!!
Cause of the people we are (hard working, metal maniacs, who loves music and think everyone else should do too), we have decided to put all the songs out
right here on the homepage for ANYONE who want to download.
What the quality (bitrate) of the songs will be is not decided yet, but the minimum rate will be 192Kbit
For you people who likes us enough to support us with money or just isn't satisfied with mp3s, we will also make a real CD at a limited edition to start with, this one how ever will be a few weeks away.
It will be possible to order it via the homepage.
As you might have noticed this 4 song Maxi CD is done all by ourselfs with fellow musicians and friends around us (hence the free download), without them this whole thing would not have been possible.
And we thank you all that where involved greatly for helping us doing this project, and hope you guys appreciate it cause it still costs us alot of cash and time recording and getting it out.
But as we said before we love music and everyone should be able to listen too it.
If some record company won't help us record and getting our music out, then we'll do it by ourselfs.
We also know that there are alot of mp3 groups that take alot of music rip it to mp3 and spread it like wildfire for people too download and listen too.
So we thought if anyone is gona get credits for these songs its gona be us, cause we are the ones who invested our own money, blood, sweat and tears in this music.
Documentary update.
Now we have a confirmed date of the demons of the opera documentary that was filmed around the show it is supposed to go on air januari 22 on the swedish chan SVT2

2005-11-22 News Update
Ok people, here we go !
Things are really starting to shape up in the recording session, all of the singing is done and so goes for the guitars, bas and so on, now we are in the delicate state of mixing and mastering this 4 song project.
Name of the tracks as follow (
Black,
The One,
Dreamworld and
Songs Of Moab) and will end at at total time of about 20 min.
The time in the studio has all been great fun and joy, so its feels kind of sad that its coming to its end.
Well hopefully will you all enjoy listening to the songs as much as we has had making them.
An update of the documentary as well.
Rob has done a two day session with the documentary team to add a (look back) point of view of the picture.
Everything is moving on and for once there is light at the end of a very black tunnel.

2005-10-27 News Update
Well here we go again folks another update in 6th awakenings recording life!!
Where to start ???!!
Well as we said last time the drums where completed and we could not be more happier with the result, (thank you mathias for a great time in the toontrack studio)
and we where going on to the guitars, bas and song at the studio of Marcus Norman guitarist of naglfar.
Present day 90% of the guitars and all of the bas playing is done, still we got song, more guitars and some other stuff to put in there before the mixing and mastering part begins.
All and all we are right on track timewise as we have predicted.
More news to follow.
P.S No updates in Photo area and Guestbook , we are still working on getting a better layout, stay tuned!!

A livedate has been confirmed at
Lycksele Rock Festival 2006-01-21.
Feels like a treat for all of us to come back and meet all the metalheads that gave us a great experience last time we played there.
Also our fellow friends from the metalband
Assailant will be joining us playing the festival, so be prepaired to bang your heads till your eyes bleed.

Quick update !!
Thanks for the mail jonas regarding the guestbook, it has been deleted due to the problem with the host. atm we are currently working on getting a new one that we will host ourself so it wont be any hastles, let ya all know when its up.
Recording is going great, all drums are done and the final touches for those are in progress, will come some pics from the studio in a while.

2005-09-29 News Update
The time has come.
The 11th October will be the start date of the recordings, with drums at the notorius Toontrack studio.
As the writing of songs has been going forward a darker and less complex side has emerged from the 6th Awakening.
The songs has grown heavier and harder than you ever heard us before.
To add a touch of evil to it , the band will join producer Marcus Norman (Naglfar) in his studio, for the finishing of the product .
With no major hangups the recording will be released in december.
Due to delays, the documentary featuring 6th Awakening , Nocturnal Rites and Persuader at the Demons of the opera show,
has been pushed forward untill easter.
Feel sorry for all you guys who has been waiting for it.

Great News people!
The swedish Radio station P4 västerbotten has decided to send the (Demons of the opera) songs on the radio.
Here is the info from the web page in swedish.
(V36 (5-9/9): 6th Awakening och Symfoniorkestern vid Norrlandsoperan.
Demons of the opera kallades projektet som genomfördes på Norrlandsoperan i april i år.
Tre hårdrocksband från Umeå fick chansen att spela tillsammans med Symfoniorkestern vid Norrlandsoperan. Hans Hjortek arrangerade bandens låtar för full orkester, och Hans Ek dirigerade.
Bandet: 6th Awakening började spela tillsammans för fyra år sedan.
Har sedan dess gjort två demos och spelat live, mest i norra delarna av Sverige. Det som utmärker bandet i hårdrocksvärlden är sångerskan Lovisa Lundmark, som har en både kraftfull och vacker röst.
Måndag - fredag kl 12.40 och 16.40)
In short this means that in this week (W36) at 12.40 and 16.40 Swedish time (+1GTM), the local radio will send our part of the show mon-fri.
We dont know how this will be sent on air, but our guess is that it will be the same songs 2 times each day, so that means a new song each day.

After the shows at Demons of the opera some of us was pretty wore down and the band went back to the rehearsal to
blow off some steam, so that is what we have been doing more or less the last couple of months.

Friends, scum and headbangers all over the world!!
The Demons of the opera shows are starting to make its mark on the Swedish media.
In the latest issue of Sweden Rock Magazine (#27) you can read a halfpage interview with our guitarplayer Robert concerning the work behind the scenes.
Swedish radio recorded both the Friday and Saturday shows and the Monstermixingjob has begun to prepare it for broadcasts.
The latest preliminary date for broadcast is in month of June and as soon as we know an exact date and time you will read about it here.
During the last month of preperations for the Demons of the opera shows Swedish TV made a documentary that followed the work.
Due to some badass-producer the broadcasting date has been delayed from September to November.

2005-04-28 Sry for the much delayed news update
Lo there people !!!
Sry for the WAAY to long delayed update,but we was hoping to get some pics of Demons of the opera ting up in our media section before we wrote anyting new.
Unfortunately we still have not been able to do that "still working on it" =X
But for the time beeing here is a little info on what has been going on and what is going to happen to us "as far as we know now atm atleast".
For starters the gig in ö-vik with Persuader and Destynation was a blast and the Destynation guys was a really cool bunch, and Persuader well... they are like they always are a rowdy bunch (hehe).
We had sweet time over there and hope to be back there some time. "hopefully more people will also get their asses over to there to listen as well" ;P
We need to say a special thanks to one of our new Ö-vik fans "Oskar" who was with us "Robert" most of the time "backstage", hope you made it to the Demons and enjoyed it.
When it comes to the Demons of the opera, well what can we say.. it was the biggest thing we have ever made and maybe ever will do..
A BIG thanks goes to all the people that made it possible either by working backstage or playing instruments,hope you people who where there and saw it liked it as much as we did.
Btw if anyone of you should read this that was there with his camera, and think that you might have gotten some cool pictures of us that you want us to see.

The things we are concentrating on right now is to make new songs and to move to a new rehearsal with a group called Assailant.

Four new songs recorded and a new video!!
During the vinter we have recorded four new songs. At the moment we don´t know if we will release them or have them at hand for future releases. The respons on the Perfect war recording and especially Tongue Reaper, made us think and we decided to make a video out of it. We thank all the people who help us on location and in the editingroom. 6th Awakening will be perfoming with the Norrlandsopera symphony orchestra at the "Demons of the Opera Festival" on the 1-2 of April 2005. 6th Awakening has been given the great honor of doing the performance of a lifetime.
